100 guests at the Fellehus of the Nordic Embassies in Berlin



For the tenth time, the Green Future Club 2023 presented two sustainability awards: the Green Product Award and the Green Concept Award, distinguishing products, concepts and services that excel in the disciplines of sustainability, innovation and design.


In cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden the ceremony, an intensive learning & matchmaking event accompanied by an exhibition took place at the Fellehus of the Nordic Embassies in Berlin.


Ceremony & Green Olympics


Surpassing 15,000 applicants over the ten years submitting from 76 countries, this year 1300 submissions from 40 countries applied for the Awards. The award ceremony was opened by Per Thöresson, the Ambassador of Sweden to Germany. As Sweden has the EU Presidency until July, Ambassador Thöresson in his remarkable speech, he shed light on how research & development brings green transition.


The winners came from Austria, China, Costa Rica, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, United Kingdom and United States. The winner were aligned and awarded by Embassy Delegates from their countries, marking the start of the Green Future Club’s yearly Green Olympics commencing in Berlin from now on and each year forward. Pitches & Networking Islands


The day started with inspirational talks and selected young designers from the Green Cells Program (support by the IKEA Stiftung) pitched their ideas on stage. Afterwards six workshop islands provided the sufficient networking and match-making platform for the nominees, winners and Green Future Club members alike. The workshop islands based on the topics of sustainable exhibitions, showcase developments, innovative materials, tools for sustainable businesses, mentorship and funding were facilitated by jurors and partner institutions. Many fruitful partnerships were formed, which the Club will follow closely to showcase its outcomes in the near future.


Exhibition


Between March 23-28 selected nominees and winner projects were exhibited from the categories New Materials, Fashion, Packaging, Kitchen, Interior & Lifestyle, Kids, Beauty & Personal Care, Consumer Goods, Buidling Components and Worspace. Once a day, guided tours took place led by Nils Bader, the founder and Nikolett Madai, the Project Manager.


Green Trend Book No.10

The Green Trend Book 2023 is the 10th anniversary edition of the Green Product Awards. It contains current sustainable trends in 13 categories, which are presented with product and concept examples from the awards and articles by international experts. Highlights of the past 10 years, an overview of exhibitions and educational offers complete the book.
